Friday Night the Anteater won 3-0 against Santa Barbabra’s Gauchos. I started off by taking “safe” action shots. My new editor at the New University, Brandon Wong, mentioned at last Monday’s meeting that wanted more expressive sports reaction shots. Luckily for me the girls were quite celebratory each time Irvine scored a point.
I got an email Thursday night with an assignment for me from the Huntington Beach Independent to photograph a football practice of Huntington Beach High School. The oilers recently had their football stadium, Cap Sheue Field, remodeled. I tried playing with the “tilt shift” effect.

On August 6th I woke up at the crack of dawn to hop on the 405N, pre-traffic, to get to Hermosa Beach. The 2009 AVP Crocs Slam Bud Light Hermosa Beach Open presented by Virgin America was taking place that weekend and my editor at the paper ask me to cover the event. Kerri Walsh
