On August 6th I woke up at the crack of dawn to hop on the 405N, pre-traffic, to get to Hermosa Beach. The 2009 AVP Crocs Slam Bud Light Hermosa Beach Open presented by Virgin America was taking place that weekend and my editor at the paper ask me to cover the event.
